Haha, this was so much fun to draw. It's the cover to the doujinshi that I wish I had time to draw for my boyfriend. Combeferre/Enjolras, using the Shoujo Cosette character designs rather than my own (it is fanart doujin, after all). I get so used to doing my own cute little Combeferre that I forget how much fun it is to draw somebody else's Seme!Combeferre (he-of-the-evil-eyebrows XD)...my boyfriend says that this 'Ferre is too cool to be V. Hugo's 'Ferre. It must be the Toulousain cross tattoo... As for Enjolras, I was sorely disappointed that his hair never came loose in Shoujo Cosette (even as he was dying, grrr). See, since I have a short-haired Enjolras, I'm not accustomed to the joys of drawing long-haired hawt Enjolras...so this was me making up for it. (His jacket name-tag has his name in katakana, BTW.)
As far as media for this thing go, it's mostly colored pencil, but there's some marker (the brown parts of 'Ferre's shirt, for example), and Enjolras's jacket was an experiment (it's crayon, with marker laid over top of that). There's also white acrylic beneath the lettering (lovely shoujo bubbly-cloud-things), but it was sadly pretty much wiped out by the poor lighting in the scan. Boo.
LOVE! This is the best portrait ever. Yay for Combeferre and Enjolras!

Oh my God I think I am going to die o_o... If you ever draw this doujinshi I will pay you a hell of a lot of money for a copy >>
It's GORGEOUS! The crayon effect worked very well with the jacket, and I must say I am in love with the flowy Enjolras hair <3 I think I prefer your vision of Combeferre to this one (This one is taller than Enjolras; for some reason that doesn't fit in my head), but they are both extremely attractive, so it doesn't matter anyway The poses are also so...interesting. It's like a combination of defiant and secretive and sexy. Always works well!
And what? Enjolras' hair never comes loose? Noooo! T_T I was so looking forward to that! (I guess he's too perfect ) I haven't gotten very far in the series because I can't find a torrent of episode 9 ANYWHERE on the internet, and I am one of those stingy people who must watch every episode in order xD; I'm waiting for Christmas to get a couple of DVDs that will save me the trouble of downloading, and after that I can find the more recent episodes all over the net <3 I can't wait to see the Les Amis! *excited*
Wonderful picture, as always! And all the more so because I'm a total "Shoujo Cosette" fan, so I understand COMPLETELY where this is coming from. Plus I can actually read Japanese, which is rather useful at times like these
But both of them look amazing, and I especially love Enjolras' belt buckle.
(sigh). I wish I could draw like this...and that my pencil crayon/marker scans didn't come out like something a three-year-old would have colored, which my scanner tends to do to them...
Excellent work, again!

Hahahaha, I really do want to draw a whole doujin, but daaaamn, too much coursework at the moment. Don't worry, if it ever comes out to my satisfaction, I'll let you all know. Yeah, I must say I was pleased with the crayon effect, at least for a fatigue look. I too am in love with flowy Enjolras hair, and was really surprised that they never drew it down, since that would be such an anime cliche (you know, guy is falling is slow motion, his ponytail magically comes untied..... ). Haha, well, in the anime, Combeferre and Enjolras are pretty much the same height, but since their Combeferre is so on top, acccording to unspoken anime rules, he really ought to be taller. My Combeferre, on the other hand, tends to be rather submissive, so it makes sense that he's somewhat short.
Ah!!! I can't believe you're watching it in sequence! I can't believe you have the stamina to suffer through "Eponine-gets-lost-in-the-woods" filler episodes, just to make it to the actual V. Hugo-inspired episodes......Yeah, you'll love the parts with the Amis, they're close enough to the book versions to be interesting, and different enough to keep you guessing as to what will be changed, added, deleted, etc. They're even (occasionally) well-drawn. But only occasionally.
I am endlessly enchanted by your clothing designs, and this is no exception. The seams, and colors, and wrinkles, and movement... Jeez. The marker on crayon for the jacket looks wonderful. Plus, those expressions and pose is great. Fantastic work!

I really love how your experiment with the crayons and markers on Enjolras' jacket came out! Beautiful, as always!
