Artist's Comments

The death of Prouvaire in Les Miserables (the book). I imagined him quite...um...aggressive. Or rather, unwilling to just be passively led off to die. I did this one when I was pissed off in France...maybe a form of catharsis. :D

Team France: Spelling it NapoLIEN since 1806.

Oh Jehan.

I like this idea of him fighting. One forgets, poet that he is, that he's also a revolutionary and therefore probably not completely passive. :)

This is lovely~

About the only way in which an infestation of Ravnos is preferable to a military conquest is that the Ravnos sometimes leave more of the town standing.

"Vive la France!"

That part of the book was so sad and yet awesomely awesome. Your art for this scene totally rivals that awesomeness : D

The expression, the detail...oh, if only I could draw so well ;_;

I can't...I have rehearsal.

Prissy Jehan is good, but you see it a lot more often; it's stuff like this that makes me ultra-happy. Go, Jehan, go! :D

All will be well
In the light of the sun
The night will pass
The darkness will fade
I will be able to see the hills
And I will continue looking for you

I love this, it's so dynamic. Never having read the book, the one thing that catches my attention is that the guy on the left, because we can't see his hat, only the strap of it, reminds me of Ted the Bellhop from Four Rooms. But this is gorgeous, as always.

Hmmm...I may have to read Les Miserables. Lovely drawing. The expressions are fantastic.
